U·wa·na, pronounced (oo-wa-na) derives from the Swahili language meaning “sonship.” Before delving into sonship, here are a few confessions:
- These things I am: Jesus’ #1 fan; an insanely proud mama/wife/daughter/sister; writer; lover of science; and proponent of all things African.
- These things I hate: Ignorance, injustice, poverty, oppression, mediocrity … anything and everything that robs a person of their potential, their self-worth, and their purpose.
- These things I pursue: As a passionate advocate of growth and development, I’m journeying towards becoming the person of value that God wants me to be, and to help others see themselves as Jesus sees them: valued, loved, and uncommon.
What about sonship? Sonship can be defined as the character, rights, duties, position, or privileges of a son; the state of being a son, or of bearing the relation of a son. This blog presents a God-inspired perspective on the characteristics and tools needed to grow and mature from children of God into sons of God. Sons are God’s hands and feet in this world; they understand His thoughts and embrace the responsibility of carrying out His will on earth. Sons have aggressive ambitions for growth and development; they desire to help people discover and pursue their God-given potential.
Sonship is about transforming your seed of purpose into a vehicle for national empowerment and transformation … and it all begins with you!
So come along, join me on this exciting journey!
Grace and peace be multiplied to you as you grow into your sonship,
Bupe Rose

Love that – “Holla back!” We used to say “holler” but it’s the same feeling. I just saw your Freshly Pressed article about saying hello to everyone you meet, and had to read more. My friend’s kids (probably your age) and I used to play a game we called “Breaking the Mall Face.” We’d be in a mall or an airport, and look at people as they passed, trying to get their attention. If anyone actually took note of us, we’d smile really big and say HELLO. Some would respond, some would look away. But at least they were greeted and their mall face was broken. They had to put on a real expression instead of the mask people wear in malls and airports and so forth.
Just wanted to stop by and swap howdies – I’m always happy to find another believer on WordPress!

Greetings from Australia,
I understand your love and passion for Christ Jesus, our beloved Lord and Saviour; I started on that journey many long years ago. Although sometimes my knee would bend and I’d fall to the ground with the many tribulations of life, by Christ’s love and grace I would always pick myself up and continue walking along the road, by “the narrow gate”, that leads to the kingdom of Heaven
God bless

Many thanks! It’s always great to connect with like-minded people. Helps to know that we’re in this journey together. Falling can be a good thing, when we get back up we’re changed and more driven. I love God’s grace. It’s what sustains and preserves us on this windy road called life. Much grace and love as you pursue your purpose!

Hello Rose!
(I know this is the most inappropriate means of connecting with you…but this is the avenue I could find. Please forgive me).
Calvary greetings to you in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Awesome work you are doing on your blog.
God be praised forever!
My name (in short) is Tim and I am the administrator of the newly unveiled Christian Social Community: Rhemalog.
Craving your indulgence, I will quickly like to intimate you on our purpose, goals and objectives.
Rhemalog is a compound word, coined from both “Rhema” and “Log”.
It means, putting into writing(Log), your encounters in the Word of God(Rhema).
That is, sharing with the beloved, the things that God has shown unto you in His Word.
Rhemalog is established by the leading of the Holy Spirit, as a platform to enrich and impact the body of Christ all over the World!
You will agree that there is a lot of degradation going on.
Abuse, spiritual contaminations and pollutions.
All you need is to refresh your social-media pages long enough…then boom!
There you have it, in your face!
But.
Wouldnt it be awesome to have a sanctified environment?
A platform built solely for the Children of God.
Devoid of negativity around us, but filled with inspirations, encouragements and above all, the WORD OF GOD!
This is our driving force.
The clarion call that moved us to put Rhemalog in place.
And this is our call to you: Would you like to join us?
As one of the major (Christian) thinkers and opinion-makers out there, logically, it is a no-brainer that we need you, especially since our main goal is to ensure that the people are well fed.
We need your insightful thoughts. Inspirational ideas. Well written pieces. We need YOU!
We need you, not only as a member, but also as an A-List contributor.
And we already have all the tools required.
– Personal Blogging feature
– Video sharing
– Community pages (think facebook pages)
– Timelines and profiles
– Pictures, etc
Together, we can build one of the most vibrant and impactful communities out there.
Should you decide to join us now:
– Your personal blog and info will be shared on our social media pages (with over 59,000 members)
– Your community page will be featured. Meaning, it will come up first in searches and views (with its own cute ribbon)
– You can host all your youtube and vimeo videos, thereby increasing your viewer-ship and enhancing your reach.
– As an early adopter, you will be a part of a huge and influential community at its infant stage.
Well, “gold and silver” we have not.
But can you help us be a blessing to the children of God out there?
It will be a huge honour and we will be waiting for you.
rhemalog.com is the address.
Thanks and may God keep His face shining on you.
Yours,
Tim
